SYNOPSIS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hippolyta, Penthesilea, Antiope and the other Amazons are back, as presences more than characters. Not telling a myth, but moving through it. Not brandishing weapons, but postures. Not shooting arrows, but trajectories.<\/p>\n

AMAZZONI by Silvia Gribaudi, created in dialogue with the performers Marta Olivieri, Martina La Ragione, Sara Sguotti, Susannah Iheme and Vittoria Caneva, inhabits the stage as a space to be crossed. It does not occupy space: it rather expands it. It does not impose: it rather insists. It is a gesture claiming its right to exist<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

“Bodies training for freedom<\/em><\/strong>, transforming resistance into rhythm, effort into celebration. On stage, the performers put themselves on the line, both as singularities and as a herd.
\nTheir fight is a practice, a constant training to be in the world with their whole body. United and allied, they fight without an enemy. Their revolution does not build borders, but opens boundaries. Together they take the power and transform it into a choreographic act: they move through it, dismantle it, parody it, overturn it.
\nHere, dance is a practice of staying.
\nOf taking back one\u2019s own space<\/strong><\/em>.”<\/p>\n

Silvia Gribaudi, with the collaboration of Francesco Dalmasso as assistant choreographer, creates on stage a practice that becomes a physical training to open spaces inside and outside the body. A choreographic form that does not seek unison, rather a gesture that creates relationships. The differences become a shared matter, an exercise in coexistence, training to be together without erasing the singularities.<\/p>\n

The musical dramaturgy is mainly based on female vocal sonorities, becoming the sonic matrix and living material of the whole composition. The voice, multiple and ever-changing, is the beating heart of the project: through electronic processing, it expands, gets fragmented and recomposed, moving through and materialising different emotional states and meanings. The music by Matteo Franceschini creates a polyphonic, ritual, almost shamanic soundscape, where repetition becomes trance, resistance, a transformative process. The lighting by Luca Serafini draws mobile territories, crossings, areas of power and of intimacy.
\nThe costumes, curated by Ettore Lombardi, underline the complicity of the group, giving space to the personality of each body, through elements from different eras. They don\u2019t transform, rather they reveal. The colour black becomes a shared environment welcoming differences, postures and characters. A styling that supports the freedom of the bodies on stage.<\/p>\n

In AMAZZONI the poetics of Silvia Gribaudi moves through the sacred, the profane and the human. Through their presence, these Amazons do not represent a myth, rather they are activating a contemporary archetype: women inhabiting their own strength without giving up complexity.
