
Silvia Gribaudi
Silvia Gribaudi is an Italian choreographer active in the field of performing arts.
Since 2004 she has been focusing her research on the social impact of the body and on the relation between audience and performer, through an artistic research on choreography, dance and humour. With a specific attention to the human and relational layer, she develops her works through dialogue and the poetic encounter with the artists she collaborates with, the communities and the audience, who become integral part of every performative act.
Her latest productions are the solo SUSPENDED CHORUS (2025) co-produced by Teatro Stabile di Torino – Teatro Nazionale (IT), La Corte Ospitale (IT), Rum för Dans (SE), Le Gymnase CDCN – Roubaix (FR), What You See Festival (NL), THE DOOZIES (2024) created with Marta Dalla Via, co-produced by Teatro Stabile del Veneto – Teatro Nazionale, La Corte Ospitale and GRAND JETÉ (2023) with the MM Contemporary Dance Company (IT) co-produced by La Biennale de Lyon (FR), Théâtre de la Ville (FR), Rum för Dans (SE), Torinodanza Festival (IT), International Dance Festival TANEC PRAHA (CZ), Zodiak – Side Step Festival (FIN) and by the international network Big Pulse Dance Alliance.
Award-winner of the Premio Giovane Danza D’Autore Veneto with the performance A CORPO LIBERO (2009). Finalist at Premio UBU for best dance performance and finalist at Premio Rete Critica with the performance R.OSA, with Claudia A. Marsicano on stage (2017). Winner of the Premio CollaborAction#4 2018-2019, finalist at the Premio Rete Critica 2019, winner of the Premio DANZA&DANZA 2019 for best Italian production with the performance GRACES and winner of Premio Hystrio Corpo a Corpo 2021.
Her performances have been featured in a number of theatres and festivals in Europe, Asia and America. Among them, the Théâtre de la Ville in Paris, The Holland Dance Festival in The Hague, Shanghai International Dance Center, CINARS in Montreal, Torinodanza Festival, Biennale di Venezia, Bolzano Danza, Dansnät Sverige in Sweden, La Biennale de Lyon.
She has taken part in artistic research projects, including: CHOREOROAM (2011), TRIPTYCH (2013), ACT YOUR AGE (2014) – a European project on active aging through the art of dance, which inspired the performance WHAT AGE ARE YOU ACTING? and the community project OVER 60; PERFORMING GENDER (2015); CORPO LINKS CLUSTER (2019/2020) where the relation between dance, the mountain and the local community served as starting point for the site specific project TREKKING COREOGRAFICO and the performance MONJOUR (2021). In 2021 she was guest choreographer for “Danser Encore, 30 solos pour 30 danseurs”, a project for the Opéra de Lyon, and in 2023 she took part in the project “Variazioni di Grazia” for the Opéra-Théâtre Eurométropole de Metz. Silvia Gribaudi’s works have been selected by the European network Aerowaves and by NID PLATFORM – Nuova Piattaforma della Danza Italiana.
Over the years, Gribaudi has successfully collaborated with different Italian Cultural Institutes outside of Italy, among which the ones in Amsterdam, Athens, Barcellona, Beirut, Belgrade, Berlin, Bratislava, Cologne, Lyon, Los Angeles, Madrid, Montreal, Moscow, Oslo, Paris, Beijing, Prague, Shanghai, Stockholm, Strasbourg, Vienna.
Every creation of the company originates from a research method developing through the relationship with different local communities, also through workshops and participatory processes in dance pedagogy. As an educator Silvia Gribaudi developed numerous projects, some of which with the CDCN Pantin, Ballet du Nord, Oriente occidente, British Council, Yorkshire Dance Center, Actor School of the Teatro Stabile di Torino.
Silvia Gribaudi is one of the co-founders of Zebra, a dance production organization recognized and supported by the Italian Ministry of Culture since 2018.
She is associated artist to Le Gymnase CDCN (Roubaix – France) for the period 2024-2026 and to the Teatro Stabile di Torino – Teatro Nazionale (2025-2027).

Award-winner of the Premio Giovane Danza D’Autore with her piece “A CORPO LIBERO”(2009), finalist at the Premio UBU for best dance show and finalist at the Premio Rete Critica award with R.OSA (2017), winner of the Premio CollaborAction#4 2018 2019, finalist at the Premio Rete Critica 2019, winner of the Premio DANZA&DANZA 2019 for best Italian production with the piece GRACES. She has taken part in several artistic research projects, including: CHOREOROAM (2011), TRIPTYCH (2013), ACT YOUR AGE (2014) – an EU project about active ageing through the art of dance, which inspired the performance WHAT AGE ARE YOU ACTING?, as well as the community project OVER 60; PERFORMING GENDER (2015); CORPO LINKS CLUSTER (2019/2020), where the connection of dance, the mountains, and the mountain community gave life to the site specific project TREKKING COREOGRAFICO (choreographic trekking) and to the piece MONJOUR (2021), produced by Torinodanza Festival and Brussels’s Les Halles de Schaerbeek.
In 2021 she was a guest choreographer at “Danser Encore, 30 solos pour 30 danseurs”, a project for the Opéra de Lyon while in June 2023 premiered her new production GRAND JETÉ co-produced by MM Contemporary Dance Company (IT), La Biennale de Lyon (FR), Théâtre de la Ville (FR), Torinodanza Festival (IT), International Dance Festival TANEC PRAHA (CZ), Zodiak – Side Step Festival (FIN) within the frame of the international network Big Pulse Dance Alliance.
Silvia Gribaudi is associate artist at Le Gymnase CDCN (Roubaix – France) 2024-2026 and at Teatro Stabile di Torino- Teatro Nazionale (Italy) 2025-2027.
